Things you can always say
The rules that never change
- Tell the truth. Every other rule is second.
- Pause. Count to three before every answer.
- Answer only what was asked. Then stop.
- Don't guess. "I don't know" is a complete answer.
- Ask to see any document before answering about it.
- Say it out loud. A nod isn't on the record.
- If your lawyer speaks, you stop.
- You may ask for a break — just not mid-question.
Your attorney's instructions
Not filled inFill this in with your lawyer before the deposition. Anything you put here outranks every general rule above. Until it's filled in, DepositionPal will never claim your attorney told you anything.
Standing watch
—Case file — your documents
0 activeLoad these before the deposition. During it, anything relevant appears automatically in Right now — you won't need to come down here.
Nothing loaded yet. Good things to add: your own timeline, the key exhibits, a one-page list of names and roles, your calendar for the relevant months.
